Blood Types by Jonas001 at Dec 27, 2013 9:46pm

A new feature of the DayZ Standalone is that every player got his own blood type. It is very important to know your blood type if you want to do a blood injection. If you get the wrong blood type you will die. Because of this I decided to write this to show you which blood type you need.

First off all there are three different blood types A, B, AB and O.

A got the antigen A, B got the antigen B, AB got antigens A and B and O doesn't have antigens.

Important to know is that A has antibodies against the antigen of B, B has antibodies against A, AB doesn't have antibodies and O has antibodies against A and B.

That means that A can get A and O, B can get B and O, AB can get everything and O only can get O.

So if you give someone with blood type A blood with the blood type B then the blood will clump and the person will die.

And there is the rhesus factor. (That's the + or - after the blood type.) Someone who is plus has an antigen which is called rhesus-antigen and people with a minus don't have this antigen. Now if you give someone who is Rh- blood that is Rh+ the body tries to eliminate the rhesus-antigens and the person will die too.

Blood Type Can Receive
A A and O
B B and O
AB A, B, AB, O
Rhesus Factor Can Receive
Rh+ Rh+ and Rh-
Rh- Rh-

Sorry for my bad English (I'm from Germany) and I hope I can help you with this :)

does blood type change after death?

By Pheelz on 2013/12/23 at 3:06am

Nice work, only one question, where can I find which blood type I have in SA?

By Fridge on 2013/12/23 at 3:10am

Your Blood Type is bound to your Character. Therefore you get a new Blood Type everytime your Character dies. You will not get a new Blood Type just for logging out and in.

The percentage of which Blood Type you get is based on real statistics. So you will spawn most commonly with an O Blood Type. But due to the risk of dying I wouldn't bet on it. Always use Blood Testing Kits to see if compatible.

Here is the blood type percentage for North America which reflects on what the population has in DayZ.

O Positive 38.4% A Positive 32.3% B Positive 9.4% O Negative 7.7% A Negative 6.5% AB Positive 3.2% B Negative 1.7% AB Negative .7%

Dunno where are you from Defibrillator and if things are different there, but in here it really is O as in Omega.

How to know my blood type?

By Warjo on 2013/12/29 at 1:56pm

GhostWolfii; you need to find a blood test kit and test your type.

If anyone can't really figure out which blood type can give to which or receive from blood types RHINO CRUNCH on youtube made a video titled "How not to be a noob (DayZ standalone)" and at about 4:18 has a table that shows the blood types very simplistically and which types can receive the another certain type of blood. It would be good if someone could make or post a table with that kind of simplicity on this guide or another one

If you manage to get yourself to a "healthy" status you can always draw some of your own blood and store it for yourself to use later. Remember though to eat and drink straight after drawing the blood to get the regen going again.

Thanks for the info, never knew this until now. And don't apologize for your "bad English", Jonas, never noticed it since you're better spoken than most of us Americans.

Soo AB+ Is the best and O- Is the worst? Thanks man :)

By skipan on 2014/01/06 at 2:44pm

@Plasma It depends. AB+ is the best for you while O- is the best for your friends since you can give it to everyone. If you play in group and a player has O- keep him healthy and fill some bloodbags, so you don't need to worry about anything.

@Volitile Whats so hard to understand? The summary is easy to read and by reading the explanation you'll unterstand the system and won't need a table anymore.
