This page contains information about the mod version of DayZ. Standalone information is available here.

The MP5SD6 is a silenced submachine gun, and is one of the quietest weapons in DayZ. Its noise is barely audible, even by the player while shooting. Because of the low noise and relatively common magazines compared to the other silenced guns, this weapon is one of the best choices for stealth close quarters actions. The main downsides of this gun are its lack of damage, the not so good iron sight, which can be difficult to use for some players, and the low accuracy at long ranges.

The MP5SD6 can also use M9SD Mag., which is carried in the sidearm ammunition slots, freeing up space in the main inventory. The unsilenced version can can also use the other 9x19mm pistol clips.

It spawns in most military buildings, with the notable exception of the northwest airfield barracks. Its spawn chance is half of its unsilenced variant, the MP5A5. Ammunition has a chance to spawn in most loot locations, with the highest chance being in military spawns.

This baby is an excellent zombie swatter. Think of it as a silenced pistol with a big magazine. Use single fire and go for headshots.

This gun is great for both lone wolf style players and team players. When I go lone wolf, I typically end up with an M24, a G17, and this gun. It's great for clearing out buildings and even entire small towns of zombies. One shot to the head will kill a zombie, and its magazine holds 30 rounds, so as long as you're accurate, that's 30 zombies on one magazine. I tend to keep it on burst though, just in case I run into a bandit. With burst on, you can kill zombies while still conserving ammo, and when you run into a bandit, you only have to pull the trigger 5 times for a kill, and that's if all of the bullets land on their chest.

Great weapon. Accurate, and don't miss. I find that the sound of the bullet going by a player is louder than the shot itself. Also pretty handy with zombies.

I am sure it is about 10 meters for players as the gun is EXTREMELY quiet. The downside here is low damage and awful (for me at least so IMHO) sights.

I found some (in my experience) and they were in airfields they are GREAT for looting heavily trafficked areas such as NW airstrip,Cherno, and Elektro

A Cherno/Elektro Bandit's dream weapon.

Granted the weapon damage vs. a player is awful however only one head shot is needed. Can anyone account for the approximate rounds needed to break/incapacitate a player (is this a proc, or is a certain cumulative damage needed to break bones)? As bandit said it IS a perfect zombie swatter however what do you guys think (for players), leg or headshots? I carry this weapon now and have many times before (usually to throw away). I'll use this as my preference for cq banditry and give you my opinion as well.

pistol ammo doesnt work in the mp5s anymore...

Only uses SD magazines from M9 and MP5 ofcourse, and thus not as good for long campaigns.

This gun has integrated silencer. I can't confirm but is said that if you use SD mags on a non suppressed weapon you get the same effect on zombies. Players still hear it as a normal shot though.

I have this gun, (currently, hoping it will not be lost via death!) and it is VERY VERY silent. I'd imagine you couldn't hear this (as a player) from about 30 meters away.
