This page contains information about the mod version of DayZ. Standalone information is available here.

The M107 is a sniper rifle available in DayZ. Designed to take down light armor, the gun is absolutely devastating to infantry even at range, since its massive .50BMG (12.7x99mm NATO, the same as the AS50) round makes for 1 hit kills against players. However, due to limitations in ArmA2, it is impossible to take down multiple targets with one bullet.

With two levels of zoom and a scope zeroable up to 1200m, this gun is still in many ways inferior to its counterpart, the AS50. It lacks range, accuracy and can only use 10Rnd. M107. However, the M107 is more common than its counterpart, spawning in the barracks at the northwest airfield, while the AS50 spawns only at helicopter crashes. But, like the AS50, the M107 cannot be used with NV Goggles.

This weapon can be heard by zombies in nearly a half kilometer radius, making it inadvisable to use for killing them, as it will only attract more. Firing it anywhere near or in a city is usually a terrible idea, as it will call the attention of almost every zombie or player nearby. Also keep in mind that although the gun is very loud, the bullet travels faster than the speed of sound. Because of this, you can drop dead out of nowhere, never hearing the sniper's bullet before you die.

The weapon's scope reticle can also serve as an improvised rangefinder to estimate the distance to the target.

As of, The M107 and AS50 are no longer available in-game. Their damage values have been set to 0 to prevent anyone with hacking capabilities from spawning either back in.

At zoom level 2, a standing 1.8m target will be:

  • 1000m: 2.00 mil-dots
  • 900m: 2.22 mil-dots
  • 800m: 2.50 mil-dots
  • 700m: 2.86 mil-dots
  • 600m: 3.33 mil-dots
  • 500m: 4.00 mil-dots
  • 400m: 5.00 mil-dots
  • 300m: 6.67 mil-dots
  • 200m: 10.00 mil-dots

Could we have both? a zombie hearing range, and a player hearing range?

By alayton on 2012/07/06 at 7:11pm

Audible range refers to the distance zombies hear it from, not players.

i just found one in a barracks on a private hive and now its time for me to go from hero to bandit!

By MASSKILLA on 2012/10/02 at 6:39am

That is why you change your position after sniping so that way they don't know where you are!!

By LoneWolf1337 on 2013/03/21 at 7:34am

The fact that it is a lesser version of the as50 and takes rounds that do 37k damage. Its extremely desireable. Also the zeroing feature. So useful. If you don't know how to use this it is the pg up pg down keys. I killed 14 player squad with this weapon.

Note that this sniper can track down player, vehicule and zombie with a green square than its show a green circle inside the green square to get the weak spot. My favorite sniper just for this

Great gun. It's my 114th day alive with it. It's proven to be a good weapon

By AlexKC on 2013/04/14 at 8:44am

found this beast 2 days ago. It's very loud so quick change of position is necessary. love that track down function but usually square is on zombie not player -.-

Guidez (the youtuber) is making a series to test weapons. He'll get us the hearing range for players. YAY!

By DocJRoberts on 2012/08/09 at 11:49am

According to the charts there's no audible difference in the AS50 and the M107. The only difference is the range of the weapon itself.

Sounds like a superfuturistic laserweapon....And not to quite...

By Zapador on 2012/09/04 at 10:34pm

For a weapon like this it will be close to impossible to make an accurate audible range for players because this gun is so loud and audible range seems to be greatly affected by the terrain etc., as it would in real life so all you get is a ballpark figure which isn't really useful.

If you fire this gun expect that someone somewhere will hear you ;-)

For the same reason I've come across the M107 several times without taking it with me - I prefer the DMR.

Just stole this from somebodies tent, I am going to try this tommorow.

By Ankiltareum on 2012/08/03 at 1:43am

Just keep in mind that when u're up a mountain above a valley and u fire that gun, all the players next to you and in the valley and in the mountains on the other side of the valley will hear you. Unless there are many many trees around them.

I've found this powerful weapon at in a crashed heli at Arnoldstein aiport on Panthera Island! And it was an AS50,M14 AIM + FN FAL there too !

By SatiX on 2012/07/11 at 1:30am

1 hit to kill player no matter what

By sinigang93 on 2012/07/14 at 4:34pm

In comparison with it's direct rival, the AS50, this gun loses. It is louder, has slower bullet travel, and a larger profile which may reveal a sniper with ghillie in cover. All that aside, it is a more common spawn at helicopter crashes, and has a very small chance of appearing in military spawns. The fact that the AS50 does approximately 5 times more damage should not be important in DayZ at ranges less than 1000 meters (of course, unless one is shooting to damage vehicles). Overall, my team tries to keep a few of these stashed in tents for general use. Certainly a worthwhile weapon
